alright, it supports up to 4 ide devices right? how come there are 4 ide connnectors on it. wouldnt that mean i could have 8? or are the 2 on the left (w/o the floppy below it) just for a raid setup? thats what i think it is. . .
 
It works as the same as another 2 IDE channels as long as it isn't set up a Raid controller. I have 4 master drives set up on the 4 channels and have room for 4 slave drives.

If you put HD "1" on the ata100 connector (not recognized by bios but afterward) and HD "2" on the standard connector (recognized by bios) and CDrom "3" on the other standard connector, you will have the choice (in bios) of booting to Floppy, or drive "1", or drive "2", or CD "3" with drive "1" being a [SCSI/Onboard ATA Boot Device] under "Other Boot Device"
