Well our computer teacher set up Quake III on 8 computers and we were pwning each other. Was really fun but the game was kinda old... I had lots of fun. :)

Better then online gaming.

Where can I find places that host LAN parties? Would I have to take my computer with me?

How was your first LAN party experience? Was it fun? What games did you guys play?

i've never actually been to a real lan party. there's one held about twice a year around here (about 1 1/2 hours drive) but it is always held during finals week so im booked. the closest thing to one would hav to be at my old school where about 14 or so of us just stowed ourselves away in the basement of one of the residences and went at it for a good 6-8 hours straight.

my favorite ones was when i was in grade 8 or 9 during exam week. most of us had our exams in the morning and then had to wait for the bus to come, which was around 3pm (so about a 4 hour wait). about 4 or so of us wen to the comp lab and discovered opposing force on some of the computers there and went at it every day after exams for a couple of hours.

I wish my computer teacher would do that but all he does is whine and ***** about microsoft while coding c++ on his lab full of linux POS.

Lan's can be a real great experience :) I'm confident there must be one at least every year in a large city nearby. You can play cool games, watch movies and make new friends. And copy alot of self recorded movies and self composed music.

Never forget your preparation though...that extra few bucks for food, a comfortable chair, that one cd with drivers or that one pillow can make or break a LAN :D

i havnt been to any like sponsored ones where you have to pay, but i have small ones with riends all the time. we just all go to someones house and game all night. its nice to have plenty o room to move tho, not un packin 9 computers into a trailor's kitchen and living room lol

im still interested in having one with OCforums members somewheres in ohio, if we can find enough people and get somewheres to go, and i can make it there lol. thread in o/community
