I sent my 7950gt in last week and am still waiting on the 8800gts to show. I've got a Trident PCI with a whoping 2mb of vram that came out of my p166.

When I did the stepup i was number 67 in que and my turn came around about 8 hours later, so hopefully they are still pretty speedy about it =)

Yeah, back when I went from 7900gtx to a 7950gx2, it went from around 271 to number one in 3 days or so if I remember correctly. :)

I did the stepup for a 8800 GTS last thursday, started at 81st in line.
Now i'm at 72nd. Oh well..

ya looks like they have very few cards if any atm... hopfully they will get a nice big batch of them in for me... i mean us!

I've been at 64 for a week now...

I should just sell my GTO for $230 and buy the 8800GTS myself... I need to fix the spacing from the core to the cooler (I should've left it as it was) but the ram on my card does well over 1700mhz EASY so it should be easy to sell

Really movin along now, up to 71st. Someone must have canceled.

Does anyone know if it is the same wait in stepup for the 8800GTX?
I see chiefvalue has the 8800 GTX for $609.99 free shipping

Moved on up to #19.
Now I've got a problem. When I started the stepup, the card (8800GTS) was listed at $499 at EVGA.
Now they are $449 with $20 MIR at the EGG.
But now that I registered my 7900GTO with EVGA my warranty is not transferable (original buyer only).
This will make the card tougher to sell.
Does anybody think the price may change at EVGA?

the price isnt going to change at evga unfortunatly... never has never will.

Hmmm, i dunno. My 7800GTX still handles evrything pretty good. Unless new games/apps come out that demand more video horsepower then i might, but for now it doesn't look like anytime soon.

Most of you already seem to have kickass video cards.

The upgrade seems a bit unneccesary to me :p

oh believe me my 7900gt ko 512mb is NO slouch plays bf2 at max settings with 4xaa 4xaf with vertical snyc @ a constant 85fps... but the thing is i cannot sell my card for anywhere near what i bought it for (359.99) so i may as well pay 150 and get a 8800gts to further future proof my comp... i dont really upgrade comps once i build them... my last rig i had for 3 yrs and all i did was upgrade the video card from a fx 5200 to a 6600gt so im just getting it to where i wont have to upgrade for some time... that all but then theres other ppl out there that gotta have the latest.

YEA BOI!!! im number one right now!!! im just waiting for the email!!! god i cant wait to get this 8800gts... even if its not a gtx so what... you cant say the 8800gts is a crappy card lol.
