Lian Li to Release Several New Cases

Yes, you read right – Lian Li is making benching stations. I received a couple press releases recently and thought they’d be worth showing our readers.

First up is the smaller of the two benching stations, the PC-Q06. In its native form, it is meant to be a bench/test station for mini-ITX boards, however the story doesn’t end there. There is an optional mATX / ATX tray you can install for using boards more along the lines of our readers’ systems. Specs for the station, per Lian Li:

• Supports Mini-ITX motherboards
• Supports ATX / Mini-ATX motherboard tray (optional)
• Standard 5.25″ optical drive
• Standard 3.5” hard drives
• Standard ATX PS/2 power supply units
• USB 3.0 multi-media I/O ports
• Made of 1.5mm thick aluminum
• Availability: Arriving at local distributors end of May
• MSRP: $89.99 VAT PC-Q06A/B (silver/black), and $104.99 for PC-Q06R (red)

Ultra-compact yet houses all you’ll need for a good benching session. Looks like a whole lot in a little package!

Up next is the larger of the two benching stations, the PC-T60. This is more along the lines of what you think of when you think benching station. It supports mATX / ATX boards from the get-go with room for more hard drives and more room to work. This one looks like it will satisfy the more heavy-duty bencher’s appetite. Specs for the PC-T60 are:

• Supports ATX/Mini-ATX motherboards
• Quick and easy access to all components with the open design
• Standard 3.5” hard drives: three
• Additional handles for two 2.5” hard drives
• Card holders for eight PCI cards
• Laser pre-cut for USB 3.0 multi-media I/O ports
• Availability: Arriving at local distributors end of May
• MSRP for PC-T60: $95 for A/B (silver/black), and $119 for R (red)

Definitely for the more hardcore bencher, the PC-T60 seems to be more function than form. Still, it’s Lian Li and it’s hard to remember anything by them that looked bad.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a Lian Li specialty. Their towers are already well known for build quality and aesthetics and the new TYR PC-X900 doesn’t look like it will disappoint in either department. Specifications definitely look nice:

• Supports ATX/M-ATX motherboards
• Case separated in two heat zones
• Four USB 3.0 multimedia I/O ports & one e-SATA/HD audio port
• Three 120mm LED fans at front & two 120mm LED fans at rear
• Seven PCI expansion slots
• PSU at case bottom
• Seven standard 3.5” hard drives in two tool-less HDD cages
• Three standard 5.25″ optical drives
• Availability: Arriving at local distributors end of May
• MSRP for PC-X900: $439 for A/B (silver/black), and $499 for R (red)

Even better looking than the specs are the photos; this is one nice looking case!

That is one darn good looking case!
