Yep, that’s right folks. Not one, but two of our members are benching sub-zero live tonight.

Starting first, we have world class overclocker and GOOC champion MIAHALLEN working with some brand-spanking new hardware and getting it nice and cold with liquid nitrogen. He’s starting at 6:00 PM EST. Here’s the skinny:

  • Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD9 (ES)
  • CPU: Xeon X5677 (ES) quad core
  • GPU: MSI nVidia GTX 480
  • Ram: 6GB Kingston HyperX DDR3-2000 CL8
  • Cooling: LN2 on CPU & GPU, water on motherboard
  • Focus: wPrime, AM3, 01, 03, and 05
  • Time: 6:00 PM – Midnight EST

Up next, we have Bobnova from our own benching team. He’s working on getting some points with 2D benches. The session will start starting at 8:00 PM EST and go until the dry ice runs out.

  • Mobo: Asus P5Q Pro
  • CPU: Core 2 Duo e4500 (retail)
  • GPU: Asus 4890 TOP
  • Ram: Crucial Ballistix 2x1gb
  • Cooling: CPU on dry ice, NB on air w/piped dry ice fumes.
  • Focus: wPrime, SuperPi, PiFast, CPUz. May do 3dmark01 if i have extra dry ice.
  • Time: ~8:00 PM EST till the dice runs out (3:00 AM’ish).

Hope you can stop by and root these fine gentlemen on!!!

  1. There actually is, the Procaster software saves and uploads the stream, so you could actually watch it later if you wanted to.
I believe the webcaster does too, if you give it time after the stream ends to chew through it, i've never felt like waiting another hour for my poor netbook to encode five hours of video. Might be different tonight as i'll be running the stream off my padmodded e1200 instead.
Early, i've got my board all insulated, next is mounting the pot and insulating that, then i'll be ready to rock and roll.
It's 3:30 pacific right now, i expect to be cold by 5pm pacific. Naturally i'll post once i'm armed and operational.
Been watching miah for a while now. Learned a lot. It's pretty cool to check this out, especially for those of us who aren't at the point where we are ready to use ln2 yet.
    Thanks for streaming!
