A number of you responded to our inquiry about your experiences about RMAing CPUs to Intel and AMD.
The good news is that no one reported a rejection.
The bad news is that it wasn’t quite “see no evil,” either.
A few reported that they got a note with their new CPU indicating that their CPU showed signs of being heavily overheated, or that they really didn’t use very good thermal grease on the CPU.
My suspicion is the policy is to give anybody the benefit of the doubt the first time, but if someone sent a processor in multiple, it might be a different story.
