A neat way to organize and power a bunch of hard drives – Joe
SUMMARY: A neat way to organize and power a bunch of hard drives.

The good guys at SansDigital were nice enough to send a sample of their 5-Bay IDE / SATA Hard Drive Organizing Rack to try out.
Key Features
- Aluminum frame construction
- Can be powered by ATX power supply, 20 or 24 pin
- 120 mm cooling fan
- Securely holds five hard drives
- On/Off power switch
- Size: 6.7″ x 6.9″ x 7.6″ H; Weight: 1.2 lbs; stackable
A view from the back shows the fan and rails on which the drives sit:

Lots of holes to keep air flowing:

The view from the front with one drive installed:

The cage features a 20/24 pin ATX power plug for ample hard drive power:

Once a power supply is hooked to the cage. there’s a green LED to indicate power:

The drives are held in place by screws designed to ride in the rails:

After sliding in the drive, it’s held in place by snapping a plug against the drive:

In use, there is no way the drive is loose – it’s as secure as if it were bolted in place.
If you have a bunch of drives and routinely switch among them, this drive cage may fill the bill – a neat way to organize and power a bunch of hard drives.
Thanks again to SansDigital for sending this our way.
