ASRock X299 OC Formula Motherboard Review

Today we had a chance to look at another X299 offering, this time from ASRock with its X299 OC Formula. The OC Formula is more of the sports coupe of motherboards with a focus on overclocking and going fast as opposed to gaming or even workstation use. We put the monster i9-9980XE 18c/36t CPU on the board and push it as far as our cooling will take us along with going over the specifications and features. Read More

ASRock Z390 Extreme 4 Motherboard Review: Price/Performance King Again?

Today we will be looking at another motherboard in the Z390 series, this time from ASRock. The last time we connected with them was in January where the X399 Phantom Gaming 6 motherboard for Threadripper was reviewed, and positively. This time around, we have something from the mainstream platform and likely a fairly familiar name if you have been reading our forums over the past few years in the Z390 Extreme 4. The Extreme 4 was typically highly regarded as one of the best ‘bang for your buck’ type motherboards with a solid feature set as well as capable power delivery for overclocking the CPU. We will break it down in this review and see if it is still able to maintain that crown of being one of the better Z390 boards without paying a premium. Read More

ASRock Z170 OC Formula Motherboard Review

In this review we will wrap up the “major” overclocking boards. We looked at the ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme and, more recently, the Gigabyte SOC Force. Both of which were pretty formidable motherboards in their own right. The last board is one of everyone’s favorites in the extreme overclocking community, the ASRock Z170 OC Formula. Like those mentioned above this board has, for generations, been noted by respected extreme overclockers as being one of the best for the job. Sadly, I won’t be using LN2 for this review, but we will beat on it none the less and come up with a good idea on how it stacks up anyway! Read More

ASRock Z97 Extreme6 Motherboard Review

Today brings another offering boasting Intel’s new Z97 chipset. This new series of motherboards brings compatibility with future Broadwell CPUs, M.2 SSDs, and SATA Express, along with other smaller changes. ASRock has released multiple boards on the Z97 chipset from their OC, Extreme, and Fatal1ty lines. This motherboard, as you can guess, is part of the Extreme series. Even though it isn’t part of the OC series this board has plenty of overclocking features, but it targets the more “average” user. Read More
