CES 2022: ASRock Reveals Z690 Taichi Razer Edition Motherboard

Today, ASRock revealed the Z690 Taichi Razer Edition motherboard. Built around the LGA1700 socket the Taichi Razer is ready for Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake CPUs. This powerhouse motherboard features a 20 phase SPS Dr.MOS power design and reinforced DDR5 DIMM slots capable of RAM overclocks of up to 6400MHz. Stunning lighting effects are possible due to the integrated Razer Chroma RGB and controlled via Razer’s easy-to-use Synapse software. ASRock Partners with Razer – Develops Taichi Razer Edition Motherboard

ASRock just announced its partnership with Razer and developed the ASRock Taichi Razer Edition line of motherboards. This marks the world’s first motherboard that is natively integrated with Razer Chroma RGB lighting. Designed for competitive gamers and power-hungry users, it will be available in both X570 and B550 flavors. Both Taichi Razer Edition motherboards feature 16 power phases, Killer Ethernet 3100, and Killer Wi-Fi AX1650. MSRP for the X570 Taichi Razer Edition is $399 and the B550 variant is $299.

Up on the test bench today is a DDR4 offering from Mushkin Enhanced. Their Redline Frostbyte features speedy XMP profiles and aggressive styling, but will it be compatible with AMD’s newest generation of motherboards? Memory compatibility on AMD’s X570 series platform is still problematic at best. Many of the memory kits on the market today were designed with Intel platforms in mind. Choosing a kit of memory at random and expecting it to work flawlessly on AMD platforms could end in a comparability nightmare. We’d like to explore this memory further and put it to the test on our AMD X570 based test bench.

Today we have the opportunity to test something a little different in the modern DDR4 memory market. For high-end computer builders and enthusaiasts, Samsung B-Die has remained the undisputed champion in recent years. Although other options have always been available, when it comes to overclocking and performance, there is simply no competition. Today, we are testing the Crucial Ballistix Elite, which is running a new breed of Micron memory IC’s.
