Once again, I have the pleasure of reviewing a new installment from EVGA’s FTW motherboard series. This time it’s the Z170 FTW getting strapped on to the benching stand. With an all-new look, new features, and support for Skylake CPU’s with DDR4 memory EVGA has had their work cut out for them revamping the FTW. Let’s see what they kept, improved, and dropped on this newest iteration.
Well, we skipped a generation on the front page, because overclocking Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge were both relatively similar, and relatively easy. The overclocking game, however, is in for a bit of a facelift with Haswell. We have an overclocking guide ready for you on day one, so grab your CPU, sit back and relax while we overclock them together!
Tested with Phenom II X6 1090T overclocking… I got in touch with a friend and he agreed to let me take one of his cooling pots for a spin. Aaron Schradin of LN2Cooling.com has lent me an excellent pot to play around with and review for all of you guys. This pot is usually meant for the purpose of running under LN2 and LHe4. This is seen in the many AMD world record breaking overclocking attempts, which can all be seen over at amdblackops.com. However I will be playing around with the dry ice performance of this pot, which has mostly gone overlooked until now. Includes Overclockers.com exclusive video. See it first here!
