Replacing p5p800-VE to p5p800SE.. format?

I replaced my p5p800-VM with a SE version, is it necesary to format when I switch? Im kind of dont have alot of time to format it, but I can but if I dont have to that would rock. Since it seems to be the same board... Im think id be alright, any input?

dont see why you need to, its not like you going from say one chipset to another. they are the same chipset with just minor chances.
