I had been using vista 32bit ultimate rtm for a while and wanted to try the 64 bit vista as i have a amd x2 64bit cpu and with that i went out and brought windows vista ultimate 64bit oem from overclockers and installed it. Since putting this on i have had loads of bsod's and don't know what is doing it. I never had one bsod when using the rtm one. here is wot i got:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen

Additional information about the problem:

BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_0_6000

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini022107-04.dmp
C:\Windows\Temp\WER-32015-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Windows\Temp\WERDBE8.tmp.version.txt

Can you post the stuff in the files mentioned please? Unfortunately that message is so vague all I can say is, um, dunno! Several items there don't even get hits on google...

Yet another bsod any idea's

stop:0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0FFFFF80001892D9A, 0xFFFFF980012D36c8, 0xFFFFF980012D30A0

I can't find anything specific, but, check every driver you have. I'm seeing stuff about Soundblaster cards, braphics, bios issues etc etc. As it's x64, make sure you have proper x64 drivers, or disable the device if possible.

After the first 2 bsod's i downloaded the latest vga, sound and other things.

my pc specs:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, 2431 MHz
Asrock ALiveNF4G-DVI motherboard
Realtek high definition onboard Soundcard
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT
1gig 533 memory
Samsung sp1614N ATA 150 gig hardrive
Samsung HD501L Sata 500gig hardrive
Maxtor 6 L300R0 300 gig hardrive in usb icy box
Epson R220 printer

Google: "stop:0x0000007E". I'm gonna have to send you out to see if you can spot anything that could be the problem.

sounds like a memory error (and a quick google search came up with the same thing) i would try putting your memory on the next lowest divider and see if that solves the problem, if it does, then its time to start playing with your timings.

But why would that happen now as i never got a bsod before i put the orig vista ultimate 64bit on i paid for.
