my knoledge base here ends back with socket478 when running dual channel ram (i.e., 2 x 512mb rather than 4 x 256mb) was only notably advantageous in intel systems and not amd-based setups.

in light of current C2D and X2 chipsets, does this still apply? or do both manufacturers equally take advantage of dual channel ram now?

thanks-

they both equally take advantage of dual channel. AMD systems, right now, don't take full advantage of running ddr2 800 in dual channel, they kind of more or less went that way for future bandwidth concerns.
