Hi. Last night I did a system repair of XP sp2 to try and clear up some strange quirks after a failed memory overclock. It booted up fine and everything seems the same but every time I try to re-download and install updates they fail to install. They finish downloading, the yellow ! comes up, and I click to install. A minute goes by and I get this....

The following updates failed to install

Update for Windows XP (KB927891)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB873339)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB931261)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB924270)
Update for Windows XP (KB900485)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB896423)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB924667)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB911562)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB911280)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB923980)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB893756)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB920685)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB899591)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB901017)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB911927)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB929969)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB931784)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB928255)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB923414)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB885836)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB885835)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB922819)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB924191)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB927802)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB927779)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB899587)

Seems like pretty much all of them. I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I went to the windows update page and installed their new activeX prog to scan my pc but something weird is going on. It says I need 76 updates every time. No matter how many times I download these things one way or the other they fail to install. I'm lost. SOS.

Ok got it working. I followed the hellraiser labrynth'eque microsoft help page thing which led to a solution to an error message that never actually came up. It told me to do some run\command line stuff that I probably couldn't find again if you paid me to but in the end it worked and I think I'm good to go. Thanks guys sorry to waste your time.
