Maximus Formula x38 power connector question

I have a maximus formula with the x38 chipset. On the board, it has a 8 pin connector for 12 volt source but 4 out of the 8 pins are covered. The cover is removable. Can I remove that cover and use all 8 pins. Thanks...

yes thats the thing to do plug in all 8 may not need it for dual but for quad you will

Its right in the motherboard manual. Remove the cap and use the 8-pin

yep i had a cap on my p5k premium when i got it and use the 8 pin even with a dual
