ASUS and FOXCONN both put clear CMOS buttons on their high end boards and also one of the new GIGABYTE boards has one as well. Some boards have them external whilst others are located inside on the board but not out of reach (still easier and safer than removing the battery)

ASUS states to pull batery then clear switch.
WHY not just remove the battery

Been lucky and never had to clear.

Yeah I'm gonna say no to that one just because I have an ASUS and always hit the button on the back and never pulled the battery. I'm not sure why they say that.

It's most likely just an extra step to ensure it's cleared. Occasionally just using the jumper won't work. I've had to do this with a couple boards in the past.
