I was checking this device out.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820609405

I know it says its to upgrade the netbooks, but can it be simply plugged into any miniPCIe slot laptop and still be used as a storage device?

Would even the 4gb or 8gb SSD from asus eeebooks work as well? I wouldn't need that much space as I just need to match my RAM (4gb)

I rather use this than A) upgrade HDD to 7200RPM Seagate HDD or B) always have a USB stick plugged into my laptop (only 2 ports available).

Anyone if this will work?

only works in mini pci slots wired for ide. asus, dell ect have these slots. they wont work on our regular slots. which sucks, cause i wanted one to use as a small swap partition for win7/vista on my zif tablet =(

they are a popular upgrade for those netbooks, so im sure in the near future we will see some that are compatible with all mini pcie
