I ordered a tec , and i just wana check how much power it will use, and a few other things.
the is the imax spec the current needed when running at the vmax?
if it is, can some 1 check my caclulations?
specs of tec:
* Type: TEC1-12726
* 400W
* 12V
* Couples: 127
* Imax (A): 26
* Vmax (V): 15.4
* QCmax (W) 177.8
* Tmax °C: 68
* Dimensions: 50 x 50 x 3.65mm (2 x 2 x 0.15")
* Wire length: 101mm (4")
* Fully sealed for protection against moisture
resistance of tec
15.4/26 = 0.592307629 ohms
Current at 12v
12/0.592307629 = 20.2597424 A
required wattage wattage at 12v =
12*20.2597424 = 243.1 W
edit: also, whats the qcmax? acording the the model number of the tec, the Qmax is 220w, but i dont know what the qcmax is?
edit1: does the qmax scale with voltage input? (eg 15.4v = qmax 220w will 12v= qmax 170w?)
edit2: delta T calculations:
Delta T = (1 - (Heat Load/Max Cooling Power)) * Max Temp Difference (these calculations were done assuming that the max cooling power scales liniar to input voltage.)
(1 - (100 / 220)) * 68 = 37.0909091 @15.4v
(1 - (100 / 171)) * 68 = 28.2339181 @12v
its gona be cooled using a dtec fusion V2 (with own bolt through setup) mcp355 and Black Ice 480 GTX in ambiantes between 20-30c depending on the day, what temps can i expect over all on cold side of tec?
thanks, mark
