I've been browsing our sister site, WHT, looking for an inexpensive collocation for my server. Nothing critical or business related, so the 'budget' vendors are OK with me.
The cheapest I've found so far is Joe's DC, however I'm still not sure about their response time. That's another story, though. There are roughly a dozen or so other 'budget' vendors that I found, but I won't list them here.
Anyone "know a guy" or "have a friend" that they would recommend, or could possibly offer a discount? Or, if you've used a specific vendor before, I'd like to hear your suggestions.
Here is what I'm looking for:
--> Tower -OR- 1U to 4U
--> 3TB ~ 5TB+ transfer on a 100Mbps port
--> Roughly 1 Amp @ 120v, definitely no more than 2 Amps
--> 3 ~ 8 IPv4 IPs; IPv6 support would be nice, but not necessary
--> Two network drops (one for failover)
--> Definitely under $100/m, aiming for $50/m (like @ Joe's DC)
--> EDIT: The Dallas area would be preferred, but not necessary...
Thanks,
