I bought some corsair ram for a new build, but since I'm not familiar with DDR3 I could use some help or suggestions. this is the ram I bought;

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML16GX3M4A1600C9

I thought I read somewhere that it was actually 1333 that had to have something done in the bios to make it run at 1600. I dont know for sure but this is what cpu-z shows;

Type: DDR3 DC Mode: Unganged
Channels: Dual NB Frequency: 2000.3mhz
Size: 16384
Timings: DRAm Frequency 666.7mhz
FSB DRAM 3.10
CL 9.0
tRCD 9 clocks
tRP 9 clocks
tRAS 24 clocks
tRC 34 clocks
CR 2T

I'm looking for a place to start making changes in order to tweek my system for speed.

Right now you're running it at 1333MHz (666.7 x 2). Go into the BIOS and turn on Intel XMP option, that should set your memory at the right stock speeds.
