I think iv found the best, quickest, and easiest program to test a FSB overclock. Win 2000 boot-up scan disk:rolleyes: It will fail almost EVERY time if its not stable, but if you back the FSB off it will work every time. Im not sure if this is a memory issue or a harddrive issue, but i think its memory, because scandisk wont run at 166, but i didnt have harddrive data corruption problems till 174.

hi,

I had te same probs with win2k prof, but i thougt it was the cpu not the memory!! Because my memory was fine.

I think its a good indicator for testing overall stability.

Im pretty sure its memory, because iv been higher with multiplyer and had no problems, but 1 more FSB and it cancels. Could be a good indicator of both though.

pretty much anytime u overclock and get BSOD u know something your overclockin is not liking it...

Im not talking about a BSOD, just about scandisk canceling when it tries to run. Im starting to question how well this works though, i tried to see how low i had to go to get it to work, and i had to drop it to 145.

i follow the bsod theory, myelf. although my worse fear is hard drive curroption. i heard it actually puts info on a sector of the hard drive that is not removable until a format. any one know of this info?? is it true>?

never had a problem with that. I booted at 176 once and it corrupted about 150 files. Reboot and run scandisk and it worked fine after that. Not sure if I acutally lost space, but iv formatted since then, so i dont know.

hmmmm
i guess thats just for a epox board huh??
beacuse i can run any program anytime at 172 fsb

and never have problems
