For roughly a 35% increase in price, what is the relative performance gain? I'm looking for a new budget build that will last at least a few years without too much upgrading, and trying to get the best performance for my dollar. Any thoughts or recommendations are welcome...

About that much, little more in some games, little less in others. I'd have to go 460, it's simply a bit better card and worth the money if you don't want to upgrade for a while.
