no sound though tv have a hdmi to dvi cord installed

i got no sound out of my tv.. quick help would be good b4 stores close...with same cord on the pc in my signature it works fine.. also if i plug in a hdmi cord to the card and to the tv i cant get any picture or sound..

I'm not sure I understand fully. If you are using a HDMI to DVI cable, then you won't get sound - that would only pass the image through. You would need either just an HDMI cable, or a second set of just audio cables.
If you use HDMI, you must select AMD audio as your sound output, and not your onboard audio or sound card.
