I just got a 4690K tonight. Was planning on putting it in my Z87 Hero, so I flashed the BIOS to the latest from the Asus site (1505).

Popped the CPU in tonight and I'm getting no POST/boot. Everything spins up, but the error code LED on the board reads 00 and it won't even make it to BIOS.

Is that not the correct BIOS for Devil's Canyon on this board?

Thank you. I actually found that same thread and just tried the ME update and it worked

So, in the end, my steps were:

With a non-Devil's Canyon CPU, install BIOS 1505 from UEFI.

Update the Intel Management Engine to Version 9.5.15.1730.

Update the BIOS through the Windows Updater utility to 1505 (even though I had already installed it through UEFI before).

Rebooted between each step.

Swap in the 4690K and everything's good to go.

I'm guessing I didn't need the second BIOS update, but I figured, since I had already swapped back in my 4770k, I'd go ahead and do both ;)
