Safety concerns & Opinions on the use of EL wire & EL wire strips in a build.

I've been wanting to add some EL wire strips to the inside of my case but I have a few concerns.

I'm looking at this http://www.xoxide.com/blue-elwirestrip.html

1 .I have read that this stuff is an incredible fire hazard and I need to know if it's true.
2. I have heard that the majority of incidents are cause by people exceeding the inverters power rating by putting too many feet of wire on one inverter.
3. If it's not a dangerous to use is there anything specific I need to know about using it safely?

Don't know about number 1 but number 2, i read a thread about it on Asus community forum around 3 month ago
I think you better use LED light strip, it brighter and safer to use.
