G1 gaming GTX 970 2 WAY SLI vs G1 Gaming GTX 980ti - Performance Pros and Cons

I'll keep this short and sweet

I'm debating a second G1 970 but I am also loving the new g1 980ti and I'm having a hell of a time deciding. Since everyone on here is smarter about pc modding than I am I ask the question.

In terms of overall performance by the numbers which decision wins? 2 way G1 970's or a single G1 980ti?

I know that the 980ti has 6gb of memory and a 384bit bus vs the 970's 256 bit bus and 3.5/4GB of memory but how would they stack up overall in games and apps? I love my current G1 but is the price vs performance margin too little to notice?


Please help me decide I'm losing my mind over here and $725 for a single card is hard to swallow even when I make good money.

What resolution are you pushing?

So wait... $725 is a problem, yet you are about to drop $1300+ on 2 295x2's?

Man, make up your mind... in one thread... in what you want to do. i'm a bit grumpy today, but you have several threads about this that should really all be in one...................

Just like all the threads where you ask about GPU's, what resolution and refresh rate?
