Please halp!! (custom pc build)

K so tax return time and I want to buy a new custom PC, but I would greatly like some experienced guidance.

Firstly, I do have a list so far but I would also like to know about overclocking/liquid cooling. Like do parts need to be specifically compatible with liquid cooling? Also things like how to safely overclock my gear.

Here is my list so far, hit me with that feedback.

I'd go with the Samsung if you want top speed on the SSD...but the Sandisk you chose is a good drive.

What about power supply, cooler, and case?

I need some advice on those three as I've never dealt with liquid cooling.

i put my latest system together using pcpartspicker. i do know it will tell you which cooling systems will work with your system, if that helps.

An aio is a unit that is sealed that you mount in your system and it just goes. See below link. A custom loop is a system that you piece together and build yourself, see the pic below. There is advantages and disasvantages to both approaches.

Yes.

Mainly AIO out there...Corsair, NZXT, Thermaltake, Swifttech, EKWB...

Most graphics card manufacturers make AIO cooled graphics cards...EVGA, MSI, Gigabyte...

The Swifttech and EKWB AIO can be expanded to include GPUs.

Check out my signature...I chose Corsair with custom fans and a EVGA hybrid for my gpu

After getting help from a friend I made my purchase. Switched out almost every part from the list and went with a fan for cpu.

I'll be back Friday when it arrives and need help with overclocking lol. Will also post specs then unless requested before.

Well I wish I could say that was mine. That is just a stock photo I use for representation. My setup is a mess as I am constantly changing parts in my loop.

My question though is can my current 300w psu safely handle my new system for a day. Mainly just so I can prep (install windows etc) so friday i can just be ready for the new psu to use my second gpu etc.

I suggest a different case, the antec nine hundred is really outdated and no cable management

also why do you have a 1000w psu with only that gpu or even two of them?
the cards only use about 75w under load

Hey twisted just had a chance to look at your build. If you have not already opened the stuff and can still return it you may be better off exchanging a few parts.

If your set on what you got though I don't know that I would try to run it on that 300 watt psu. If you want to try though I would suggest turning off 4 cores in your bios to reduce your power consumption and I definitely would not try anything that would be taxing on the gpu.

You mention you got a aftermarket cooler for the cpu, which one?.

I am by no means any type of expert on AMD equipment but you may be limited on your overclock of that cpu due to that motherboard. There is only a few boards the AMD guys recommend for the 8 series FX and that is not one of them.

I can't recommend running that on a quality 300w PSU, much less one we know nothing about, period. You have an octo-core FX CPU picked out, that's rated at "125w", but draws closer to 200w at full load. The Windows install is a lot more intense than people think, and just the boot is pretty rough on the whole system.
