New to water cooling.

Hi y'all. I'm new to the water cooling scene and would appreciate any help you can give me as to how to set up my rig. I am looking into water cooling my CPU as well as eventually three GPU's. My only problem it seems is my case doesn't seem to be big enough for how big my rad's would have to be for all four parts. The case i'm using is the rosewill challenger mid tower. it has room for two 120mm fans, one in the front and one in the back, a 140mm on top and two 120mm on the door. http://www.rosewill.com/rosewill-pc...ore-optional-side-120mm-fans-supported-1.html.

i'm running an amd fx-8300 CPU on a crosshair v formula z MOBO.
I currently have two radeon r7 250x GPU's but will eventually upgrade to 3 r9 390x's

First thing is I would avoid 3x of any card in the first place. Scaling isn't that great, power use, complexity in a loop, etc. Are you planning on running 4K or something? Perhaps wait to see what 2 480x's look like in a couple of weeks, or grab 2 1070's now is what I would do. What I wouldn't do is get a card that is, for all intents and purposes, 4 years old.

But yeah, you would either have to get a different case or put some rads on the outside. But you need to pin down what parts you plan on cooling so you know how much radiator to get.

E.D. is right about the cards, in sli or crossfire the third card adds very little, much better is 2 better cards.

Ok so I'll stick to just two r9 390xs what 480's were you talking about? Do you mean gtx480? Or r9 480? Nvidia or AMD? And can you suggest a way of mounting the rad on the outside of my case?

Why are you insisting on old tech in the 390x? I'd really wait to see what the amd 480x is like before buying a 4 year old card or grab a 1070/1080 now.

You never mentioned why you feel you need to go with two cards in the first place. Playing at 1080p or 2560x1440, really doesn't need two cards. If you want it you do, but we want to be sure you are going in to this aware of what your needs are versus wants amd potential tally overspending.

As far as radiator placement, I'm not going to talk about that u til we pin down the hardware and amount of radiator you need. I can tell you that if you try to cool ~1000W worth (3 390x and your cpu overclocked) you will want a total of around 10x120mm worth of radiator to make it worthwhile.
