Hi Senior,,,

Please allow me to share my problem (after that I will share useful information. I hope it will be... XD )

I've been read from several forum which give me the ambit. I cannot unleash maximum power for my Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66Ghz with that chipset G41 and P43.

I have 3 pieces MoBo G41 intel chipset from ECS, MSI, and Gigabyte. The FSB is da problam,, I cannot run it above 340Mhz (FSB wall) (PCI-E lock to 100Mhz). If I increase PCI-E to miracle number (104Mhz), then I could go up to 355Mhz (cannot go further than that).
What I'm afraid is,, I'll burn my GTX1060 if I put 104Mhz on PCI-E. FYI,, that ECS MoBo has FIX FSB 333Mhz.

I learn something,,, then I decide to buy P43 (from gigabyte. GA-P43T-ES3G) (because P45 is very rare. Even on EBAY right now). But then,, it stuck on FSB 420Mhz (PCI-E lock to 100Mhz). I read on other forum that when I increase PCI-E to miracle number, it will bump up little bit to 435Mhz (but unstable).

Now, my friend aboard asking me if I want him to bring Chipset P45 from China to my country. It is pretty much expensive for me, remembering that I've been put my money on 2 pieces of G41 and 1 piece of P43. (that ECS is not counted. Because it is the ancestor of my MoBo
LoL )

If there is Senior here whose having kinda experience with GA-EP45T-UD3LR from gigabyte,, would you happened please tell me if it doesn't have kinda fsb wall.. Because I want to have plan using it to 450~475Mhz someday. (ofcourse with prime95 10Hr test each 2Mhz increment. And soft adjustment on that CPU Voltage Vcore PLL Vtermination, DRAM timing, and so on). Please advise...?? :D

For your information,, I just plug my keyboard and VGA monitor on my motherboard for all of my explanation above. I found that if I reach above FSB wall,, it won't do POST test... (remove the rest of hardware for good)

My CPU Spec:
Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66Ghz. RAM Kingston DDR3 PC10600 1066Mhz 4Gbx2pieces (8Gb). Video card Nvidia GTX 1060 6Gb GDDR5. Water cooling Enermax LiQtech 120S.

Hello. Sorry for disturbing you in this old thread which was created last year. The reason why I post in here because I would like to ask whether P45/P43 chipsets are still relevant for medium/light tasks in the year 2018. I have unused following items:
1) Intel Core 2 Duo E8600
2) Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650
3) ATX case
4) ECS NVidia GeForce GTX 570
5) Galax NVidia GeForce GT 1030
6) 405W power supply unit.

Since I have all the unused items listed above, I'm thinking to purchase P45/P43 chipsets based motherboard as an additional desktop(s) for doing medium/light tasks. I only shortlisted the P45/P43 chipsets based motherboard that supports DDR3 up to 16GB (this is the reason why I only consider P45/P43 chipsets).

If you think that P45/P43 chipsets are no longer relevant in the year 2018 and just a waste of money (even though I only need to purchase motherboard and ram to complete a desktop), I will not proceed this intention.

Thank you and have a nice day.

They certainly are useful for medium, light duty computer use. I use two if them with XP Pro, P45 on DFI MB's, one in my sig, for software that is not supported any longer after XP / XP Pro and Vista.

Finding a good running P45 775 MB isn't easy today.

All right. Thank you very much for your reply. Few days ago I've bought a used Gigabyte GA-EP43T-S3L V1.4 motherboard from ebay, which is shown in the link below:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-EP43T-S3L-rev-14#ov

I hope investing on this system is not a mistake for me. Anyway, I plan to install Windows 10 pro on this coming system with Gigabyte GA-EP43T-S3L V1.4 motherboard. Currently I have other socket 775 system, a HP Business dc5800 small form factor, which is based on Intel Q33 Express chipset, as shown in the link below:
https://www.cnet.com/products/hp-bu...0-3ghz-2gb-ram-160gb-hd-vista-business/specs/

Originally this system comes with:
1) Pentium E2200
2) 2 x 1GB DDR2 800MH
3) Intel GMA 3100 integrated graphics
4) Windows XP
5) Western Digital 60GB HDD.

Then I upgraded it to:
1) Core 2 Quad Q9650
2) 4 x 2GB DDR2 800MHz
3) NVidia GeForce GT 1030
4) Windows 10 Pro
5) Intel 1TB SSD

So far, this HP Business dc5800 small form factor have no problem with windows 10 pro and I'm happy with it.

I don't know how well a P45 chipset 775 board would be supported by Windows 10. You'll find out soon enough and you can't hurt anything.

Agree. I will update the performance of the new system with windows 10 once it is completed. Thank you very much :)
