98 says I have a bad serial #

I go to install winoz 98se clean on a HDD and I get to the portion where I need to type in the serial #, I type it in and it say somethin about a bad or incorrect # and I might need to call them? wtf? It's a GOOD NUMBER. Geeeeeeeezzz

any ideas?

Make sure you're not using the number "zero" instead of the letter "ohh" (or vice versa), that's my only suggestion.

Keep looking at it closely, I misread their letters all the time.
