Is there a program that can be ran from a computer that will pick up all wireless frequencies in the area and show if they could potentially be interfering with my current wifi connection.

That is how I do it too. I saw most were on the typical 3 bands. I picked one in between, and received much better wireless reception. Though I think some channels may degrade performance? Just verify the outcome performance wise in testing just in case.
