Do I need a second AMD R9 290X

Hi,

I have a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor. I have two AMD R9 290X. I ran 3DMark and I got back 5866 in crossfire and 5024 with a single card. Is it worth while to keep the second card since the improvement wasn't that great or is 3DMark not real world scores. Thanks.

You should see a much higher gain in score with the second 290x.

Have you used gpu-z or afterburner or anything like that to see if they are throttling? I also had a bug at one point with 3dmark that it forced vsync on regardless of settings I think when set to full screen. While watching the benchmark does it stay locked at 60fps for a lot of the testing?

Agreed with Super your performance should be significantly higher. I would also recommend checking for v sync being forced on
