I have been using python for several years from a sys admin perspective. I am starting to do more complicated things and I thought to look at OOP.

I am sorta familiar with the basic principles since I took java in school, but I am wondering if anyone has any resources that would either be a really good general guide or have a strong python bent.

Any input would be appreciated

Have you tried out the Edx.org courses? The MITx 6.01 course is taught using python. If you audit the course, you will have access to all the materials, (including lectures, notes, and HW/tests). The latter part of the course deals with OOP.

I have taken a couple of the Edx classes and highly recommend them if anyone is interested in learning something new (and free).
