I have a Sager NP9150 with an i7 3630qm and want to upgrade to the i7 3940xm.

Should this be a problem?

It can be done, but most laptops are a pain in the butt to work on.

I doubt you'll see any noticeable performance difference with that "upgrade" though.

No benefit?

I wouldn't notice the speed difference?

And while we're on the topic is it possible to upgrade the GTX 680m to a GTX 780m on the Sager NP9150?

I'm not sure if that one is possible, but I wouldn't waste money upgrading a laptop at all. The gain is so minimal because of heat and power restrictions that it'll be a marginal difference at best.
