Has anyone tried using it on win8.1, upon starting it my system freezes, I can ctrl/alt/del and get to task manger but I cant end the process. End up having to hard boot.

It hasn't been updated in almost a year and a half, so it's probably not compatible w/ Win8. You could contact the author to find out for sure...

1.99 maxmem preview is working fine on Win8. I didn't check it on 8.1.

Runs fine on 8.1. It just takes like 5 seconds to load after the UI launches.

Weird, your sytem doesn't lock up at all?

Are you using classic shell? I am thinking maybe it is causing an issue.

No lockups, only the loading I mentioned. UI hangs until the loading is done.

I'm not using classic shell, only StartIsBack.

Your system might not have anything to do with it, it simply could be an issue of buggy code.. the program wasn't updated since so long.

I was doing a mem test of stock vs xmp mode on my memory.

I have Windows 8.1 with Classic Shell, Stock runs my memory at 1600, maxxmem2 ran fine. Then tried with my xmp mode of 1866 and boom crawls to a halt til I hard reset my pc. Possible memory issue then?
