In December I got my gf an inspiron 1520, with a C2D T5450 (1.66Ghz, 2MB L2, 667FSB, 65nm)

I recently updated her bios from A04 to A07 which supports Penryn's (T8XXX) Cpus.

I can get a T8300(2.4Ghz, 3MB L2, 800FSB, 45nm) for about $260 Do you think it would be wise to upgrade and then sell T5450 ?

I think it would be worth it for if you have the extra cash to do so. Not so much for the extra mhz but the L2 cache will give it a all around boost. I'm thinking of upgrading my XPS 1530 that has the same CPU as yours.

If you're gonna upgrade, you're better off getting the T9xxx CPUs, which that BIOS update also allowed support for. And no, its not worth upgrading the CPU on a 1520 unless your gf is into gaming.
