SB Audigy Platinum Ex Problems

Anyone running an Audigy Plat ex with XP Home ? If so is your remote working properly with it. I have a friend whose computer crashes everytime he presses a button on the remote, the soundcard works great but he cannot use the remote without it shutting down his Computer after locking it up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
