well, i'm happy that the chip came (mobo is still in california, i'm in CT :/). but what i'd like to know is what i should expect for an OC :).

Here's what was on the box:

Pack Date: 6/4/02
FPO/Batch # 3213A285
Version # A82110-003

It's going to be on an IT7 Max w/ 1x512mb corsair XMS3000, so i'm thinking that shouldn't hold the OC back.

oooh - I feel a 166X16=2.7Ghz coming on. ;)

You won't need but 1.72vcore because my crystal ball tells me so.

Cheers

nahhhh great swami.....my crystal ball says 2.75:burn:  but only at 1:1 memory settings if he's using a bd7ii;)

its an IT7..

and i can't hook it up now, even tho i got the mobo today.. gotta get some arctic silver :( maybe later tonight.. tomorrow definately tho

damn close ras :D. stable at 170fsb (2.72) w/ 1.7vcore (in reallity about 1.66.. stupid enermax), tho this is on air without alot of AS2 (gettin more AS3 tomorrow). it'll boot at up to about 174fsb, but its not that stable. hopefully if/when i get a trupower and get that AS3 i'll be able to squeeze a bit out of it :). i'll get some screenies later, gonna have some fun in the mean time :D

man, that is a terrific overclock!:D you're there!

I also have a 1.6a Batch: L209B357 version: A82110-003 pack date: 5/1/02.

I have not tried to overclock the FSB pass 133mhz, but this chip needs core voltage of 1.6v at 133mhz FSB. Did I get one unlucky one?

Thanks

I had a 1.6A before I bought my 1.8A with similar specs that ran 150fsb with 1.6v and 160fsb with 1.65vcore. What are your other parts? Mobo, ram, etc.
1.6A Specs:
SL668 Pack Date 04/30/02
FPO/Batch L209B498 – Malay
Version # A82110-003
You can see that they are the same week code, version and made in Malay. Maybe something else is holding you back.

My other parts:

Mobo: P4T533, Ram is Samsung 4200 which came with the
mobo. My power supply is Antec 300W.

I bought a new HFS, Thermaltake Volcano 7+. It really does a good job cooling it down. Idle is around 37C and about 47C when running prime95. The fan has three speeds. I have it at medium setting because the high setting is very loud.

I also have three hard disk, an IBM one, and two Western Digital.

The system runs fine at 1.6V at 133mhz FSB. At 1.5V the most it can do is 125mhz FSB.

Thanks
