on my win2k box,I use IE 5.5,does anyone know how to get rid of the "pop-up description" that shows the URL when you hover over your favorites ?

I have TweakUI installed and don't see anything there,

is there a way to turn it off? in win2k ? or IE 5.5?

in "folder options" i have
"show pop-up description for folder and desktop items" unchecked

or is there even a way TO turn it off?

i don't know of a way... but why would you want to? i personally like to see where the links are going.

one way is to turn off the status bar, but you lose the rest of the stuff down there too.

I already always have the status bar turned off, that does not shut off the pop-up description.

and all my favs and links are mine! I already know where they go. I put them there.

and why? because they are useless and redundant.
and annoying to me,, oh well. :)
