going wireless, need recommendations

I am going to be getting a laptop very soon and I want to get a wireless card for it as well as a wireless access point so I can use it around the house. Inexpensive if possible. I would appreciate recommendations, also can I connect the access point to my 24 port switch? Thanks

There are alot of companies that provide wireless solutions. I have heard good things about D-Link, SMC, and Aveya.

Yes you can connect your Wireless access point to your exisiting switch. I would highly recommend that you impliment some kind of wireless security though. That way, not just anyone can walk by and have complete access to your network & internet connection.
