This is what I picked up from a review @ www.thenakedreview.com

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve tested practically all of Corsair’s recent memory, from the XMS3200 v1.1, 3200 v2.1, and 3200C2 v1.1 to this stick of XMS3500. There is some improvement from the first 3200 v1.1, which also used Winbond chips, but the -6ns variety. That stick was only able to reach 213 MHz and with relaxed timings of CAS2.5-3-3-7-2t. Here are some screenshots:
The XMS 3200C2 v1.1 also used the Winbond -6 ns chips and the best I could get it to do was 226Mhz cas2.5-3-3-7-2t.
Well Corsair has finally come out with a stick of XMS that uses the -5ns Winbond chips, which as mentioned is this XMS3500C2 v1.1. I’m sad to say that it performs about the same as the -6 ns XMS3200C2. Sure, I’m able to use tighter timings but the 3200C2 was just a little bit better.

Here is the link to the review...I have a stick of XMS 256mb PC3200C2 and now this confirms why my stick is better than my friends stick of Corsair.

I also have a stick of 256mb XMS3200C2 v1.1 here so maybe you can help me out. I had a look at memory prices here in Australia and I found the price for a stick is $197 which is the same amount for the XMS2700 (I paid $225 for mine). What i couldn't understand is why the XMS2100 is $230 and why they are selling XMS2700 and XMS3200C2 for the same price.

My part number is CMX256A-3200C2 $197

XMS2700 part number CMX256A-2700C2 $197

XMS2100 " " CM72SD256R-2100 $230

Should i get another stick of XMS3200 concidering prices are the same? Last thing, does the code under the part number sticker make any difference? Mine is XMS3202v1.1.
Cheers.

I just bought a 512 stick of XMS 3200C2 1.1 and it is pathetic,my PC 3000 Corsair does better than this stuff.
The very best i can get is 10X200.

new2me go for the 3200.... but if u need a faster stick i suggest getting the pc3500 u might get better timings at ddr400. my stick of 512mb pc3200 C2 can only do 2-2-3-6 at 400....it might be my board that might be the culprit...but i wish i could get 2-2-2-5 :(

I've been told the settings 2,2,2,5 isn't really that much faster then 2, 2, 3, 6. But yeah 200FSB is good with me, i'm happy with the one i have and most probably will get another one :D .

I don't really know about the difference in terms of performance b/w the settings, however I need better cooling for my CPU before I can really try to push my ram. But, so far I am able to hit 455 on 2-5-2-2 so I don't really need to run less aggresive settings.
