Modding Monitors

Does anyone have any links to modded monitors? I was wondering if I could put a light in my monitor and maybe drill out a blowhole to cool the inside. Just like to match it to my case. Anyone seen this down before?

i think they have....but i think it would be distracting to look at bright led's when ur concentrating on the screen

Just make sure you discharge your monitor for 24 hours before you take it apart. I has a 20 000 volt electron gun, and you will die if it's not discharged.

I remember a guy here on OC-Forums who posted a monitor he painted black and put a red cathode in it. it was tight, but would annoy me at night, had no on off switch on the outside, that's easily fixed tho. I won't be moding mine, don't feel a need for it until I mod my switch.

would it be simple to change the power LED, maybe finding a Red/Blue LED so when it's on, it's Red, and when in standby it's blue
