i have a p4 2.26 running at 2.55 with the intel hsf 1.5v
corsair xms 3200c 2-3-3-6
abit it7max

how high could u guys get it to overclock to and name specs please

my 2.26 bo stepping can go to 3.0 ghz stable for everyday use. fsb @ 176 with xms 3500 using the 4:5 ratio with 1.75 vcore and 2.8 vdimm I can bench 3dmark 2001 @ 180 fsb but my memory can not go much higher, I dont have the option of more vdimm, you might, most it7max boards have higher vdimm than me for some reason. highest I booted but not stable was 183 fsb with mem ratio @ 1:1 and vcore @ 1.85. temps to high so I didnt stay at that very long

how can i check what stepping my 2.26 is? do u really need ur vdimm to go that high? mines at 2.5

vdimm increasing is cool. it makes my cheapo kingston 266 work at 410 with normal Cas/ras etc. you can check your stepping for example in cpu-z (mine shows steping 4 revision B0 - it's really revision not stepping) or find in intel specfinder. i prefer the first way.

no, Im using a ax478 with a smart fan2 on it. the stock intel hsf was crap, but I got to 2.7 withit. now my temps at lod are around 55C with 31C case temps.

Im getting a slk 900 to see if there is a difference. only getting it because I am getting a good deal on it, not really because I need it. I like how it bolts to the motherboard since I move my comp so much. still the 2.26 p4s are some of the best overclcokers out there.

p4 2.26

I have my 2.26 @ 3076 Mhz with fsb of 181, stabe using water cooling. RAM at 1:1 ratio at setting of 2-5-2-2, RAM is Cosiar 3500 XMS. super playing games. motherboard is ASUS PEP4.

this cpu does better than my P4 2.8 Ghz playing games.

I am waiting on the new 800 Mhz fsb cpus around may 03 and the new P4 motherboards.
