Helping post 9500np softmod artifacts

I thought I read somewhere that there was a way to remove some of the artifacts if not all of them. Mine aren't really bad but if there is a way to minimize them I'm all for it. Anyone know of this post or a way to do it?

Also it doesn't really hurt to run with artifacts does it?

Well, I think you're taking about disabling "Hierarchical Z". This could give you some improvement on the "artifact front" .

I ave got 2 Radeon 9500 cards at the moment. One softmods without problems (had to buy 6 cards, until I got this one) and the other card produces minor artifacts, which get worse if I try to run any type of 3D application with AA turned on.

I've heard from somewhere that disabling texture compression helps on the artifacts.
