On the rig in my sig I am currently folding a p341_gnra_den. ATM it is taking almost 28 minutes per frame. But it was taking less than 10 minutes per frame a little over an hour ago. It just suddenly jumped up to 28 min/frame. When I restart the comp or client, it starts off at bout 9 minutes, but after about 5 minutes it jumps up to 28 again.

In the past 9 min/frame is about what it was getting on these types.

There are different types of proteins that you randomly recieve.

The fast type that are worth tons of points are called "Gromacs"

The slow ones that take days and are not worth much are called "Tinkers"

(There is also Genomes which are slow and worth the least...)

Yes, you're right !

Something's wrong here because the less than 10 min/frame sounds about right with that processor. BTW, p341 is gromacs. Are you using the computer for anything else, like gaming ?

No the comp wasn't in use for anything else. Even after a comp and client restart it would happen, so that's why I was thrown off. No other background services or programs.

And cooling stays below 45 at full load - never had a problem with heat in the 6 months it's been running. (yesterday wasn't a hot day where I live either).

I was just curious if anyone knew what was up. I've finished 10 of those types, and I don't recall any of them doing that. But I finished that one, and moved on to another, so I guess it's all good.

Yep, check this out on my older P4:

It's going so slow i'm worried it won't finish in time :(

Hmm, Maybe SSE isn't being used.

Edit: Yep, that was what it was. I shut it down and started it up again and it kept the SSE extensions on.
