I'm wanting to setup my family rig (in sig below) in a RAID 0 config. I have 2 WD 80gig 8mb cache hdds I want to use for it. What would be a good, but cheep RAID card for my Asus P4B266-C?

Also is there a real noticeable difference in performance using a RAID 0 array? I mean is it going to be a really big difference?

I have this card, which is based on a Silicon Graphics chip.

it seems to work quite well, and is very cheap.

but the setup screen is not that user friendly like with Promise and Adaptec.

you'll notice the difference when doing things which use the HD heavily.

if you can spend more then I'm sure there are plenty of good Promise or Adaptec cards out there.
