I am running an Athlon XP 2600+ in my machine. My motherboard is very new and I am using PC3200 (400MHZ) DDR RAM.

As I put in the subject, I am running the CPU at 166FSB. I am getting a temperature of around 45oC on startup and about 55oC in Windows.

Is an OK temperature, and should I reduce the CPU to 133 or is 166 ok?

I am using a MSI KT600 (latest model) Motherboard, which supports upto 266FSB.

Thanks,

Sam

im sry to say, but ur mobo isnt the greatest ocer made, the nforce2 chipset mobos are best for athlon xp out, the kt600 is crap and poop compared to an a7n8x dlx, btw u should get better cooling, i myself would NEVER go near 50c+ in an oced machine, it just wouldnt make me feel safe, get a thermalright copper cooler w/ a silent or if u want, a really LOUD tornado

just get better cooling and u should be fine, should be able to hit higher speeds too
