USB HDD newbie need help

hi! i have recently bought a usb drive, n put a western digital 80Gb HDD into it. it has already been partitioned n was used in mah comp, n now i try to put some of the stuff into my laptop through this USB drive, but it dont seem to work... though i can find it in control panel...

wah do i have to do? partition again?? but i dont want to loose all the data in there... please help >.<

make sure your USB works properly and that through the bios USB Harddrive is turned on

What OS is on the computers? Does it work on either computer? How is the master/slave jumper set? How is the drive formatted (FAT32/NTFS)?
