I have a firewire enclosure holding my dvd burner.
I also have a dvd reader taking up a slot.
Should I take out my reader and put the hd there
or move the burner in place of the reader and put
the hd in the firewire enclosure?

I plan on using the drive for extra video storage for editing.

I also have a pair of 80gig ibm drives running software raid.

Thanks:eek:

do you have pci slots

if so go buy a cheap 20-40 dollar ide card and plug it in there
( usually comes with 2 channels of ide ( 4x devices))

or you could buy a usb hdd enclosure

or you could buy a removable hdd bay

and just saw the hdd out with another one when needed

i think the first one is the best

Why dont you get a cheapo raid controller and do hardware raid with your ibm drives, and plug the 160gig in the motherboard. Some raid cards, I have one amazing job, $25-$30usd.

Because I have too much video stuff on the ibm drives now.

I took out my dvd reader and put the dvd burner in its place and
stuck the wd 160 in the exernal enclosure for now.

I suppose I could by a raid card if I moved all the stuff to the 160.

I only have a p3 933, so I don't know if it's worth the money
to pump more into this outdated machine:(
