What do y'all think about these Modules. I have 2x512 sticks on the way and I am excited to use them but I would like to know what y'all think of them. What kind of OC's have y'all achieved? Can I tighten the timings if I stay around 230FSB? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I am running 2 x 512MB sticks of the PC4000, I know they can't do CAS 2 at 250fsb because I inadvertantly tried. They can do 2.5-3-3-6 at 250fsb with a voltage bump to 2.65V which is where I am at right now.

Have you seen the price on this stuff recently? Wow, glad I bought last week.

unless the mushkin pc4000 is a great overclocker ie: 280+ a person needing pc4000 would be better off getting some of the kingston valuram with the bt-d43 chips. it usually runs around 260 or so at 2.8 2.9v, 2x256 can be had at bb or cc for as little as 50.00 if u catch it on sale/with rebate.. the newer revision d43 chips have neen binned to run better latencies at lower speed so u can expect 2-3-3-5 or 6 up to about 215/220 which isnt bad. also the newer samsung pc3700 modules are very fine overclokers in their own right. many will run to 265-270, and are priced very moderately. i just saw 2x512 modules of the mushkin for sale at newegg for 300.00. that is waaaaay to much for pc4000...

I'd go with Adata PC4200 from Komusa. This stuff is just awesome. I'm running a 2 x 512MB kit at 288FSB with a 1:1 ratio at 2.9v. I have another 2 x 256MB kit of Adata PC4200 sitting in my drawer. Adata is the best DDR500+ memory there is right now. Of course, since you're probably not going to get much higher than 250FSB, I'd find PC3700 or PC4000 that's capable of running tighter timings. I never tried tight timings with my Adata cuz I'm going for max fsb.

yep, its cheap and it runs FAST, thats for sure.. muskin is a very good company with quality products, but good god the prices they want at newegg for a set of 2x512 is just too much(300) you'd probably be better off just getting the adata or some generic pc4000 as long as the company ur delaing with is reputable and stands behind it if u have compatibility probs..

Flapperhead, like it said in the other thread. Mushkin uses Hynix and there is a 57% tarriff on Hynix parts that are imported. Adata uses their own chips and it works great. They are not Hynix chips thus they dont have to pay the tarriff.

Either way, it is up to you what you like. Both works great.

u can go to any best buy or circuit city and get a couple sticks of kingston valueram with the bt-d43 that will run a minimum of 255 260 at 3-4-4-8 or 2.5-4-4-7 for very cheap. especially if they are on sale/ rebate , u can pick a set of 2x256 for 50-60.00. ive already done it.adata uses hynix bt-d43 chips also. they just stick on their own adata blanks... hynix bt/ct-d43 and d5
with very few exceptions is used in almost all pc4000/4200/4400. I just wanted to make the cowboy aware that there are alternatives to the mushkinpc4000 that use the same exact chip, however at a much more reasonable price.
