What do you consider a successful "flash"...

I did it a while back...showed as a XT and everything...but ended up flashing back to my own modded 9800 Pro BIOS (default core/mem 432/365 (XT w/OD enabled)) because of the bug on 03 and a few games when running the XT BIOS on a R350 card...

You could say...successful flash/softmod, but with unsuccessful personal results

PowerColor
128MB
Pro

Besides the 3dmark03 issue, it runs perfectly on my 9800 pro (350 core). I have it clocked @ 418/750 for just over a month and no problems have come up yet when gaming. It's really up to you if you wanna take the risk.

I have a made by ATi 9800 NonPro 128MB and flashed it to the lite XT bios. went to load up a game, and my computer rebooted. so I flashed it right back to Pro

so it was Unsuccessful

Sapphire 9800 Pro, 128Mb. 360 Core.

Quick OC check with ATI tool got me to 440/400 with stock (aka none :p) cooling, but good case flow. Planning on ordering a cooler and ram sinks soon.

Flashed to XT with no problems. Thanks OC forums!

Got the Sapphire Radeon 9800pro w/360 core 2.5ns hynix mem chips and successfully flashed it to the Sapphire 9800XT Bios and it worked great!! :D I went ahead and reflashed it back to original and am now waiting on my gpu waterblock! The Gpu was running at 67deg @411mhz running for about an hour in BF:Vietnam(No Artifacts). Can't wait to see what it does when I get my waterblock. So far Succesful :)

Specs:
Sapphire Radeon 9800pro Atlantis
256mb

Highest clock w/o artifacts was a bench at 472 core.
Stock everything.

Hercules 3D Prophet 9800 Pro >>> XT.
128MB
It does have the 3DMark '03 bug, but I don't use it so doesn't really matter to me.
Games run great.

ive got a built by ati 128mb ddr 9800pro

flashed to the XT samsung bios and got mad artifacting, serious hangups, could not overclock very much, way less than stock 9800pro bios
artic silencer vga cooler

Just added a few names of the users who did the softmod and their results to my main post.

Successful flash.

Sapphire 9800Pro (bought at new egg). Increased 3d mark scores as noted in the other thread. Artifact problems with DX9 as also noted in the other thread.

Ultimately flashed back to 9800Pro (though different bios than what came with it - for better performance).

worked great for me, but i had an oem ati 9800pro 256 with 2.5 hynix ram and the xt pcb w/ an r360 chip:D
and this was in refurbs at newegg, someone returned a card that was effectively an xt with a pro bios, lucky me

I went from 5500 to 6000 in 3dmark03.

Saphhire 9800pro 128mb samsung memory r360 core.

Farcry wants to run on low settings when I useing autodetect, when it used medium before the flash.

successful. club 3d radeon 9800 pro 128mb HYNIX ram, giant 3 AS5. i used a HYNIX 128mb XT bios
i had 430 core 384 mem
now i have 430 core and 394 mem BUT:
i have artifacts on 3dmark 2003, some also appear on a specific place in far cry.
gained 400 3dmarks BUT i think i lost 300 aquamarks, so maybe the memory isnt working as fast as it was as a 9800 pro and thats the reason i can oc more. the increase in 3dmark 2003 could be caused by the artifacts, i mean the fact that the card is probably drawing less stuff

Sapphire 9800 Non-Pro 128mb, R350 core, successful
